What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast

Not sure I can really call What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast a book because it’s only about 35-pages long (assuming you found a print version — all I could find was an ebook and audiobook version). Still, there are a lot of 250 page books that are complete rubbish. At least this little one has something valuable to say.

The wisdom that author Laura Vanderkam has tapped into is simple, clear, and proven: successful people have great morning routines. Whether it’s exercising early, spending time with loved ones, praying, or simply sitting down for a good breakfast, our morning routines set the stage for a productive day. Put enough productive days together and you have a successful life.

According to Vanderkam, successful people use their mornings for three things: nurturing their careers, nurturing their relationships, and nurturing themselves. It makes sense when you think about it. Mornings are when we are at our brightest, most rested, and have the most willpower to do things we find excuses to avoid in the evenings.

Well, I’d say more but it’s a short book so it needs a short review. I enjoyed this book (even if I have no plans to start rising at 5 AM so I can work out).
