The War of Art, by Steven Pressfield

If you have a tendency to procrastinate, this is a book you should read. If you struggle with the creative process, this is a book you should read. That’s because it’s all about how to persevere through the creative struggle and actually get something done. Steven Pressfield is the author of several books and screenplays, perhaps his most famous being The Legend of Bagger Vance. So when it comes to accomplishing something creative, he understands what he’s talking about.

But honestly, only the first half is helpful. It’s a short book that you can fly through quickly, but the second half is mostly the wild speculation of a mystic attempting to be insightful. And failing. I guess the second half is worth reading, it’s just not particularly helpful.

Great first half of the book, though.
