A Walk Through The Bible, by Lesslie Newbigin

Lesslie Newbigin wrote profound, brilliant, deep books. They are often hard to fully grasp, at least for me, and reading the same paragraph more than once is sometimes necessary to understand the depth of meaning.

Well, A Walk through the Bible isn’t like that. It’s brilliantly simple.

In just 80 pages, Newbigin does the seemingly impossible: he summarizes the message and purpose of the Bible. He shares the story of Adam, Moses, the Prophets, the Kings, Jesus, and the Apostles … and brings it all together in a flowing storyline that makes sense. Now you might not agree with the message, but nobody could argue that he doesn’t accurately and clearly summarize the purpose and themes of the Christian Bible.

It’s simply brilliant. And easy to understand. And short. Hard to do one of those things, much less all three. Leave it to Newbigin.
